This one statement became very apparent to me during a few meetings with my MLM team. I wanted to push hard and apply the process they where teaching me. The good old make a list, call the list and get someone on a three-way call.
I’m not knocking this technique, I tried it and it worked. However, I added a twist. I asked if instead of a three-way call, I could use a three-way video call and I added various new team members. As a result, my upline learned a new technique. This was great because this was going to help our team.
Shortly after this, at another meeting, it was announced that Zoom was a new tool that our upline would be using and teaching down lines how to use. I sat through the training and was never credited with introducing the tool to the team. I did not care because I was excited that our team would grow.
Then it hit me. I finally understood. The only reason that my upline would not use or teach modern techniques is because they did not know how to use them. The main tools they knew how to use where pen, paper and phone. The phone’s text feature was only used to remind prospects of scheduled meetings. Texting and messenger where not used to send links, promotional images, face time meetings, etc. However, there was another epiphany.
The true top leaders in the company where utilizing modern techniques. In fact, they where using them for years. They had mass email lists, newsletters, Facebook groups and pages, internet sites and YouTube/vimeo channels. They also had Instagram accounts. The home meetings and phone calls where minuscule compared to the vast amount of modern tools and automation that they where using.
The way I discovered this second epiphany was when our company acquired the exclusive rights to distribute some beauty products. I immediately tried to create a website and Facebook group with names that had the new product brand in them. I was surprised when all the catchy name combinations where already taken and various websites and Facebook groups had been created. This had all happened months before the official announcements to the public. And yes, you guessed it. They where all taken by top leaders in my MLM.
So, of course I always wondered if what I was surmising was true, then our MLM top leader must be utilizing these modern techniques. My new and current MLM is amazing! (More about them later). My new MLM teaches us how to leverage new techniques. One of these techniques is to create a PodCast. It was while listening to one of my team member’s podcast, that I had my final revelation. He had a guest on his podcast. The guest introduced himself and continued on his story and how he started his marketing agency. He mentioned how a specific network marketer contacted him and asked for help in launching his stake in an MLM he had just joined. The marketer needed help to create a website, building a list and creating an email campaign. Today, this network marketer has many online tools in his arsenal. And recently, this marketer posted on Facebook that we all need to stop posting on social media and go have face to face meetings with over 1000 people first. This marketer is the top earner in one of my MLMs that I am a member of.
They have allowed our teams to leverage any and all modern techniques to build our business. This includes funnels, video channels, email campaigns, etc. We use anything that makes noise and we make a lot of noise.

Marketing has changed. The way MLM’s market has not changed. We should be doing what the top earners are doing. However, their techniques are hidden and they only teach you old techniques. Be bold, be non-normal. Leverage the tools that belong to everyone. Join us in disrupting an industry.
